Caracterização de pacientes usuários de varfarina em relação ao letramento funcional em saúde e identificação de fatores associados

O baixo letramento funcional em saúde tem se destacado como uma característica que pode influenciar a tomada de decisão dos pacientes, adesão e, consequentemente, os desfechos clínicos. Esse fator torna-se ainda mais importante para os pacientes que utilizam o medicamento varfarina, um anticoagulante oral que apresenta várias interações com medicamentos e alimentos, sendo que para utilização e alcance da efetividade, os pacientes necessitam compreender e realizar várias adaptações nas rotinas e hábitos de vida. Este estudo objetiva caracterizar pacientes atendidos em duas clínicas multiprofissionais de anticoagulação (CMA) do Brasil quanto ao letramento funcional em saúde e identificar fatores associados. Estudo transversal no qual participaram 168 pacientes atendidos por profissionais médico, farmacêutico e enfermeiro em uma CMA localizada em Belo Horizonte. Os dados foram coletados por consulta aos prontuários e por questionamento direto aos pacientes. A identificação do letramento funcional em saúde ocorreu por meio do teste Short Assessment of Health Literacy for Portuguese-speaking Adults (SAHLPA-18), validado no português do Brasil. Foram coletadas variáveis sociodemográficas, clínicas e farmacoterápicas. As variáveis contínuas foram analisadas por medidas de tendência central e dispersão, sendo as categóricas, por meio de frequências absolutas e relativas, utilizando o software estatístico Stata/SE. Identificou-se relação significativa do letramento em saúde com as variáveis sexo feminino, escolaridade em anos, RNI alvo e o conhecimento sobre a anticoagulação oral. Acredita-se que o conhecimento das variáveis associadas ao baixo letramento possam direcionar as práticas de abordagem clínica e educação em saúde dispensadas ao perfil de pacientes em estudo.
