Resumo
A emergência do vírus SARS-CoV-2 impactou significativamente na prática odontológica, inclusive no ensino em clínicas-escola de instituições de ensino superior. Várias medidas preventivas foram indicadas para minimizar os riscos de infecção cruzada durante o atendimento odontológico e devem ser rigidamente seguidas a fim de prevenir infecção cruzada. O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar o nível de contaminação dos faceshields por SARS-CoV-2 na clínica escola de uma Universidade Pública, através da análise de superfícies inanimadas. Trata-se de um estudo observacional prospectivo, composto por uma amostra de conveniência. As coletas foram realizadas na superfície externa de 230 protetores faciais utilizados por estudantes e professores após o atendimento clínico odontológico, com auxílio de cotonete/swab. As amostras foram armazenadas em solução salina fisiológica estéril, transportadas e processadas conforme orientação dos laboratórios de pesquisa que fizeram a análise. A análise da expressão gênica foi feita através da Reação em Cadeia da Polimerase em Tempo Real (RT-PCR), seguindo as orientações do fabricante. Todas as amostras apresentaram resultados negativos para a detecção de SARS-CoV-2. Através dos resultados, pode-se concluir que seguindo um rígido protocolo de biossegurança, as atividades práticas presenciais são seguras.
